Front Company Claim in Health Scandal at KSÜ Hospital
It has been claimed that a front company was established in the single-use material scandal at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Hospital.
In the investigation regarding the reuse of single-use medical materials at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Hospital, it was alleged that a front company was established for the physician and nurse responsible for sterilization, and unbilled sales were made.
New claims have emerged in the case regarding the reuse of single-use medical materials at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Hospital for about six years. Health World Association President Hanifi Çöplü stated that a front company was established in Adana in the name of a first-degree relative of the cardiovascular surgery specialist responsible for sterilization.
Çöplü reported that used materials were sold to patients as new products through this company and that these sales could not be invoiced. Stating that evidence and documents regarding the issue will be submitted to the judicial authorities, Çöplü expressed that no sanctions have been imposed yet on the physician and nurse responsible for sterilization, and they continue their duties.
In Cumhuriyet's previous reports, it was revealed that materials that should have been destroyed in the hospital were reprocessed and used, while victims applied to the prosecutor's office and the hospital administration launched an investigation. KSÜ Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Taner Okumuş had stated that they accepted the reports as a denunciation and that the investigation was ongoing.
