The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the fuel required for the generators operating hospital units in the region has run out, stating that this situation leads to power outages in critical units and directly threatens the lives of patients and the injured.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza made a statement regarding the fuel need of the generators, which are of vital importance for the operation of hospital units. The statement noted that the fuel required to run the generators has been exhausted, causing the functioning generators to break down. It was emphasized that the lack of fuel will cause disruptions in the electricity supply to critical units.

Pointing out that the monthly fuel amount required for generators to operate in hospitals in the Gaza Strip is 2,500 liters, the statement noted that the limited fuel provided under emergency solutions remained insufficient to cover the period. The ministry called on relevant institutions to fulfill their humanitarian responsibilities and urgently intervene to keep hospital generators running.

In the Gaza Strip, where Israel restricts the entry of humanitarian aid, medicine, and relief, the lives of patients and the injured who are cared for with medical devices are in danger. In the attacks continuing since October 2023, more than 74,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, over 175,000 people have been injured, and approximately 90 percent of the infrastructure has been destroyed.
