Geneva-headquartered commodities trading company Centalion (formerly Gunvor) has deployed an artificial intelligence agent for use in trade finance processes. Operating on the Komgo platform, this system has shortened the process by approximately 55% for issuance transactions and by 80% for amendment operations, according to statements made regarding the initial facility.

Geneva-based commodities trading firm Centalion, formerly known as Gunvor, has started using an AI agent that prepares trade finance instruments based on plain-language instructions. Thanks to this agent operating on the Komgo platform, the company reported that it reduced the issuance time by approximately 55% and the amendment time by about 80% on its first financing facility.

While it is noted that every transaction still undergoes human review to be approved by a treasury employee, Centalion plans to roll out this AI agent to its other facilities as well. On the other hand, it was stated that the data shared by the company is entirely based on the firm's own figures and has not been independently verified.
