Political scientist Prof. Dr. Evren Balta was the guest on the 120th episode of the Sağduyu program, prepared and presented by Tarık Çelenk. The new world order, the competition between the US and China, economic crises, wars, and the impact of technology companies on global politics were discussed on the program.
Appearing as a guest on the 120th episode of the Sağduyu program with Tarık Çelenk, political scientist Prof. Dr. Evren Balta evaluated the transformation in the global system and current uncertainties. Stating that the uncertainty in the world is not limited to wars and economic fluctuations alone, Balta noted that the processes of distribution and accumulation regimes have come to an end. She stated that a global consensus has not yet been reached on radical transformations in areas such as climate, energy, and technology.
The program also touched upon the entanglement of the state and big capital. Evren Balta emphasized that the re-intervention of states in the economy has not diminished the power of corporations, and while priority is given to defense and technology investments, social rights are postponed. She expressed that technology in itself is not inherently good or bad, and the question of who uses it and how productivity is shared is determined by politics.
