Gold Prices on the Global Market Are Falling: Ounce Nears the $4,100 Threshold
As selling pressure continues in global markets, ounce gold has retreated to the $4,100 threshold, while gram gold began trading at the 6,565 TL level.
While selling pressure on gold prices in global markets continued for a fourth consecutive trading session, ounce gold approached the $4,100 threshold, and gram gold started the day at the 6,565 TL level.
In global markets, high oil prices fueling inflation concerns and expectations regarding central banks' interest rate policies triggered selling in the precious metal. As ounce gold declined for the fourth straight trading session and approached the $4,100 threshold, it dropped to $4,106 in early trades and was trading at $4,117 as of 06:15 TSI. The decline was driven by the denial of reports suggesting an agreement to end the conflict between the US and Iran was imminent, and Brent crude oil prices hovering near $110 per barrel.
In the spot market on October 21, 2026, gram gold started the day at 6,565 TL. As of 09:20, it found buyers at 6,565 liras with a 0.10 percent decrease compared to the previous close, while at the same minutes, quarter gold was sold at 10,786 liras and Cumhuriyet gold at 42,941 liras. The ounce of gold was trading at $4,116 with a 0.2 percent decrease.
