Google Chrome's AI-Powered Autofill Feature Will Be Able to Access Gmail
The Google Chrome browser is rolling out a new autofill feature to users in the United States, utilizing Gemini and Personal Intelligence infrastructure to suggest information such as travel and tracking numbers from Gmail accounts into forms.
Google is updating Chrome's autofill feature to draw data from users' Gmail accounts using artificial intelligence. Serving as an extension of the company's 'Personal Intelligence' framework, this new function aims to suggest flight confirmation numbers, membership IDs, tracking information, order numbers, addresses, phone numbers, hotel reservation details, and credit card information while filling out online forms.
Building upon previous autofill improvements such as names, passport numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses provided from Google Accounts and Google Wallet, this update allows users to access data like flight and hotel information more quickly.
Users can manage or completely disable this advanced autofill function through Chrome settings. While Google emphasizes that sensitive data used by the feature is encrypted, the innovation is currently being rolled out to users on desktop, Android, and iOS platforms in the U.S. who have the Personal Intelligence feature enabled.
