Google has announced new personalization features bringing its Gemini artificial intelligence assistant to vehicles. Thanks to this innovation, which is rolling out to Android Auto and cars with built-in Google systems, the assistant will be able to connect with the user's data across Google applications.

According to the announcement by Google, the new Personal Intelligence feature integrates information from Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Photos, YouTube, and Search applications with Gemini. As a result, users can ask about flight statuses on the way to the airport, automatically create a route to an appointment address, or initiate automatic navigation based on a photo taken.

Gemini support, which was added to Android Auto last year and rolled out to vehicles with built-in Google systems in April, is featured in new models from manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, Volvo, and Polestar. For the feature to work, users need to enable the Personal Intelligence setting and connect their phone to the vehicle. Even if this setting is not used, basic vehicle functions such as navigation, music, and calls will continue to work. The feature is initially rolling out for Android Auto, while it will come to vehicles with built-in Google systems in the coming months.
