Green harvest in Bodrum tangerine: 62.5 tons of product shipped
During the green harvest period in Bodrum, 62 tons and 500 kilograms of geographically indicated tangerines sourced from 104 producers were shipped for industrial production.
The Bodrum Municipality collected a total of 62 tons and 500 kilograms of tangerines from 104 producers during the green harvest period of the geographically indicated Bodrum tangerine in order to support producers and protect agricultural heritage.
Within the scope of the efforts carried out under the coordination of Bodrum Municipality Gıda AŞ and the Directorate of Agricultural Services, the tangerines harvested through the green harvest by producers in the neighborhoods of Bahçelievler, Bitez, Dereköy, Gündoğan, İslamhaneleri, Müskebi, Turgutreis, and Yalıkavak were packaged at the Herodot Cultural Center and shipped to be used in industrial production. Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci stated that efforts will continue with determination to keep tangerine orchards alive and to protect the labor of the producers.
