Halk TV's X account, which was blocked on October 14, was made completely invisible to users in Turkey by the platform on October 21, 2026. According to the announcement by the Freedom of Expression Association's EngelliWeb project, the account, which falls under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651, had changed its handle to @halktveu.

Following the access ban imposed on all of Halk TV's social media accounts on October 14, its X account has become invisible from Turkey. While an access ban was also applied to the account of the channel's owner, Cafer Mahiroğlu, the Freedom of Expression Association's EngelliWeb project announced on Wednesday, October 21, that the decision had been implemented by the platform. The statement also shared the information that the username of the account with 3 million followers had been changed from @halktvcomtr to @halktveu.

On the other hand, access bans were also issued for Halk TV's YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Telegram accounts on October 14. On the same date, a trustee was appointed to the channel and its broadcasts were halted, while the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation was being conducted into Chairman of the Board Cafer Mahiroğlu on charges of bribery, bid rigging, and laundering assets derived from crime.
