Members of the Health and Social Service Workers Union (SES) Aksaray Branch and the Istanbul Chamber of Physicians gathered in front of the Emergency Surgery Department of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine to express their reaction against the harassment incident at the hospital.

Dr. Benan Koyuncu, a member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Physicians who participated in the protest, drew attention to the problems of violence, discrimination, and inequality faced by female health workers. Koyuncu stated that the inadequacy of rest areas in hospitals and security vulnerabilities in working environments pose a serious risk for female employees.

In the press statement, it was demanded that the hospital administration conduct an effective and transparent investigation into the harassment incident and that those responsible be identified and necessary actions be initiated. Furthermore, a call was made for the improvement of physical spaces such as restrooms and changing rooms, and for the establishment of mechanisms through which employees can safely report harassment.
