Harry Kane of Bayern Munich Wins the 2026 Ballon d'Or Award
Harry Kane was named the best male footballer of the year at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony organized by France Football. Breaking records in a Bayern Munich shirt, the English striker received the first Golden Ball award of his career at a ceremony held in London.
Bayern Munich's English center-forward Harry Kane won the 70th Ballon d'Or award with his outstanding performance in the 2025/26 season.
Kane experienced Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal championships with Bayern Munich during the 2025/26 season, delivering a performance of 61 goals and 7 assists in 51 official matches played. Achieving third place at the World Cup with the England National Team, the 33-year-old footballer finished the tournament with 6 goals. With this success, Kane made history as the fifth English and fourth Bayern Munich footballer to win the award.
At the ceremony held for the first time in memory of Sir Stanley Matthews in London, Harry Kane took home the striker of the year award in addition to the Ballon d'Or.
At the ceremony, Alexia Putellas was named the best footballer of the year in the women's category, while the Kopa Trophy given to young players was won by Lamine Yamal. In the goalkeeper of the year category, the award was given to Unai Simón.
