"Direct Hit": Houthis Claim Targeted Saudi Ministry With Ballistic Missile

Houthi forces in Yemen claimed they carried out a ballistic missile attack on the Ministry of Defense building in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, and that the target was directly hit. While the attack was announced in a statement by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, Saudi authorities announced during the day that two missiles had been neutralized.

While reports indicated that sounds of explosions were heard in Riyadh, the Houthis also claimed to have carried out a ballistic missile attack on Ras Tanura, the country's largest oil refinery. The Houthi spokesman claimed that major fires broke out at the refinery. However, Saudi authorities did not confirm this alleged attack on the refinery.

Maritime security organization Vanguard stated that a fire occurred at Ras Tanura and was brought under control. The organization stated that the extent of the damage and its impact on oil loading operations were not yet clear. A resident in the city of Al Khobar, meanwhile, reported hearing a loud explosion and receiving a warning notification on their phone.
