People's Party (HP) parliamentary candidate Özbir Akbaşak announced that they plan to include pharmacists in the General Health System to make health services more accessible and integrated.

Stating that the roles of pharmacists within the health system have not been sufficiently valued until now, Akbaşak expressed that their goal is to make pharmacists an integral part of the system. Within the scope of the envisioned model, citizens will be able to access their medications from contracted pharmacies with their prescriptions following the services they receive from family physicians or clinics.

The aim is to position pharmacists not only as drug suppliers but as health professionals who take responsibility for drug safety, correct medication use, patient information, and treatment monitoring processes. Developed by the People's Party Health Committee, this model aims to establish a citizen-oriented structure where family physicians, pharmacists, clinics, and state hospitals are integrated through a digital infrastructure.
