The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office has taken action following reports of death threats and incitement to hatred against Muslims in a chat group on the US-based X platform. The prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, classifying the statements in the group under the categories of "incitement to hatred or violence" and "incitement to commit terrorist acts."

It was determined that racist and violent expressions were used in the chat group, such as "This is not the country of the Arabs," "We should take advantage of street prayers, they are all gathered," and "We need to kill too many people." La France Insoumise (LFI) party deputy Thomas Portes brought the issue to the agenda on October 25 by sharing the group's content on his X account and announced that he would file a criminal complaint with the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office.

Following an attack in the Yvelines department of France on October 23, which resulted in 1 death and 7 injuries, President Emmanuel Macron announced that the incident was a racist terrorist attack. The investigation in question is drawing attention in the context of rising racist rhetoric and violent incidents in the country.
