Iran denies Saudi accusation of involvement in Houthi attacks

Iran has rejected accusations by Saudi Arabia that it incited recent Houthi attacks. While Tehran maintained that it has no role in operations in Yemen, the Saudi-led coalition forces announced the successive destruction of missiles and drones.

Iran has denied allegations that it provoked Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia in Yemen. In a statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei rejected claims that Iran played a role in operations in Yemen, stating that the Yemeni armed forces act in accordance with their own interests. Dr. Rayed Krimly, an official from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had previously claimed that Iran was encouraging this escalation. Baghaei reiterated Tehran's mediation offer, noting that Tehran is always ready to help end hostilities.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led military coalition announced that it destroyed three drones in the southern region and Riyadh, as well as two cruise missiles over the Red Sea. Officials also reported that a ballistic missile was struck over Yanbu on the Red Sea coast.

In Aden, Yemen's temporary capital, the local security office reported that two missiles landed within the city's airport boundaries. The Yemeni Information Ministry announced that a Yemenia Airways plane preparing to depart from Aden to Cairo narrowly escaped the attack. The previous day, a missile attack on the presidential palace in Aden left five people dead and 16 injured, according to reports.
