Iran Fights Rising Militant Attacks as US Threatens to Renew War

Attacks by separatist militants in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province have escalated over the past three weeks, resulting in the deaths of at least eight security personnel. As the country struggles to counter the surge in violence, it also faces potential new military intervention threats from the United States.

Security Casualties Rise in Sistan and Baluchestan

At least eight security personnel have lost their lives in ongoing separatist militant attacks over the past three weeks in Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province. Security forces in the region are grappling with a surge in violent incidents.

In an attack carried out by armed militants near the town of Mehrestan, a police officer and a female member of the Basij paramilitary force lost their lives. This incident has been recorded as the latest casualty in the region.

High-Level Casualties and Official Statements

According to information reported by the Fars news agency, the clash near Mehrestan stands out as one of the most notable events of recent times. Other recent casualties include a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander who died while clashing with adversary-backed terrorists and an official killed by a roadside bomb.

The Hamshahri newspaper and the Islamic Republic News Agency reported that these events highlight the security risks in the region and that authorities are continuing operations.

US Threats and Military Preparations

US President Donald Trump stated ahead of the November 3 midterm elections that the United States could take action against Iran. This situation has put Tehran's administration and military wing on high alert.

Iranian Chief of Staff Amir Hatami emphasized in a statement last week that the army will remain prepared at all times against potential future American attacks and that military readiness will be maintained.

Regional Instability and Militant Presence

Iranian authorities have been fighting armed Sunni insurgents in Sistan and Baluchestan for years. Iran accuses the US and Israel of using militant groups such as Jaish al-Adl to create instability in the country.

The Jaish al-Adl organization is officially designated as a terrorist group by both Iran and the United States, and it continues to pose a threat in the region, which is the country's poorest province.
