Why "Healthy" Mojtaba Can't Appear In Public, Reveals Iranian Diplomat

The fact that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since he was injured in an airstrike eight months ago has led to international speculation in the country regarding who holds the reins of power. Senior diplomat Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi stated in an interview with NDTV that Khamenei is in good health and continues to manage state affairs.

According to Ilahi's statements, Mojtaba Khamenei held a seven-hour meeting with the Iranian President last week and maintains regular communication with senior officials. Security concerns are cited as the reason for Khamenei's absence from the public eye.

Mojtaba Khamenei has been kept away from the media since the joint US-Israeli airstrike in which his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, lost his life and he himself was injured. While officials argue that Khamenei continues to govern "from the shadows" due to security reasons, diplomat Ilahi stated that the leader attended his father's funeral and occasionally appears in public demonstrations.
