Reasons and Details of the Sentence

As a result of the trial conducted against 23-year-old accounting student Najmeh Amini, she faced charges such as blasphemy due to her social media posts. Amini received a death sentence as well as 12.5 years in prison within the scope of two separate cases.

While the exact content of the social media posts has not been shared with the public, sources close to the family claimed that the death sentence was issued on the allegation of insulting the prophet.
