The Israeli army is continuing its large-scale military operation in the occupied West Bank, particularly in the city of Hebron, following a shooting attack that left two Israeli soldiers dead and three others injured. Amid critical days as the country prepares for elections, the operation has displaced hundreds of Palestinians, while movement restrictions and checkpoint closures have been implemented.

In line with developments centered in Tel Aviv, the Israeli army intensified its operations in Hebron following Friday's shooting that killed two soldiers. The military announced that over the weekend, operations were conducted at more than 400 locations and 40 Palestinians alleged to have links to Hamas or Islamic Jihad were detained. While no militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the Hebron municipality reported that more than 2,600 people have been displaced due to the operation.

As part of the new security measures, it was announced that permitted Palestinian workers will not be allowed to enter Israeli settlements in the West Bank on Sunday and Monday, and Israeli crossings will remain closed until after Tuesday's elections. Hebron Mayor Youssef Zuhair Al-Jabari stated that all entrances and exits to the city have been sealed, and operations are concentrated in the Deir Bahha and Al-Jalda neighborhoods. Municipal officials noted that families from approximately 500 apartments in Deir Bahha and surrounding neighborhoods have been displaced.

According to Palestinian Ministry of Health data, 112 Palestinians, including suspected attackers, have lost their lives in violence in the West Bank this year, while the number of Israelis killed in clashes in the region has reached six. Yuval Shai Svilem, 20, one of the soldiers who lost his life, was laid to rest at a funeral ceremony held in Hod HaSharon.
