Joint Protocol Between Youth and Sports and National Education Directorates in Elazığ

A comprehensive cooperation protocol has been implemented between the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Provincial Directorate of National Education in Elazığ with the aim of supporting the athletic development of children and youth, discovering their talents at an early age, and increasing sports opportunities in schools.

Signing Ceremony and Purpose of the Protocol

A new cooperation protocol was signed in partnership with the Elazığ Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Elazığ Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The signing ceremony took place with the participation of Elazığ Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Abdulsamet Eren and Provincial Director of National Education Aziz Gün.

The main objectives of this signed protocol include supporting children's athletic development, discovering their talents at an early age, and increasing sports opportunities in schools.

Talent Screenings and Sports Activities

It is aimed to continue current projects and activities carried out between the two institutions in coordination.

Important works were carried out within the framework of Turkey's Sports Talent Screening and Guidance Program.

According to statements made, between 2017 and 2022, 22,376 students were screened and 1,374 students were introduced to sports; between 2022 and 2026, athletic talent screening was conducted for 27,307 students.

Swimming Training and Expanding Projects

Various projects continue uninterruptedly in order to bring students together with sports even more.

According to the stated data, a total of 33,635 students were provided with swimming training between the years 2017 and 2026.

Among the ongoing works are programs such as Sports Branch Training in Primary Schools, Let There Be No One Who Cannot Swim, My Center Is Everywhere, and School Sports.

Infrastructure and Equipment Supports

Various steps were taken within the scope of the protocol to address the infrastructure deficiencies of schools.

Within the scope of the 100 Hoops Project, glass-backed basketball hoops were installed in 100 schools.

Additionally, 28 table tennis tables and 46 basketball hoops were distributed to schools throughout Elazığ.

Ongoing Field Arrangements

The construction and arrangement works of sports fields throughout Elazığ are also progressing within the plan.

The construction of the Vali Tevfik Gür Secondary School field has been completed.

The works in other schools are aimed to be finished in a short time.
