Kaş Theater Days Begin with the Theme of Lycian Heritage
Bringing together theater, mythology, and archaeology, the entirely free festival takes place in Kaş, Myra, and Patara.
Now in its fifth edition, the Kaş Theater Days brings theater together with art enthusiasts in the shadow of ancient stones across the Lycian geography. Realized under the leadership of the Kaş Environment and Culture Association with the support of local tradespeople, the event hosts various plays and excursions over four days.
Meeting with Lycian Heritage
Reuniting theater with life in the shadow of ancient stones on the Mediterranean coast, the Kaş Theater Days is being held for the fifth time with the theme of Lycian Cultural Heritage. This year, the festival extends to Myra and Patara alongside Kaş.
The Union of Ecology and Art
Ahmet Murat Akoy, President of the Kaş Environment and Culture Association, drew attention to the importance of the festival emerging from the ecological struggle, stating that they aim to bring the public together with high-quality art events.
Solidarity-Based Support Network
Setting out in its first year without major sponsor backing, the event continues to grow through the collaborative contributions of tradespeople and volunteers. The number of supporting tradespeople is approaching 90, and the number of volunteers exceeds 30.
Organic Dialogue Established with Space
Stating that holding a festival in a geography outside the center removes art from sterile stages and puts it into an organic dialogue with the location, Aslınur Sarıca expressed that logistical challenges bond the teams together.
Ancient Stage and Excursions
While main-stage plays are performed in the two-thousand-year-old Antiphellos Ancient Theater, ancient city tours and workshops accompanied by expert names are also organized.
