Famous rapper Lvbel C5 was released under judicial control conditions by the judge he was referred to as part of an investigation conducted over the lyrics of a released song. The court ruled that the artist receive training on Turkish literature, in addition to a travel ban abroad and reporting requirements.

Süleyman Burak Bodur, known by his rap name Lvbel C5, was referred to the judgeship on charges of publicly inciting to commit a crime due to the lyrics of his song titled 'Kahpe'. Detained during the process conducted by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Press Crimes Investigation Bureau, the artist was released under judicial control by the peace criminal judgeship.
Judicial Control and Literature Education Decision
The court rejected the request for arrest and applied measures against Bodur including a ban on leaving the country and the requirement to sign at the police station two days a week. The decision also notably included the condition that the artist receive training regarding Turkish literature.
Artist's Statement and Defense
In his statement to the prosecutor's office, the artist did not accept the accusations, defending that the lyrics were entirely a product of imagination and did not aim to encourage violence. Stating that some controversial expressions in the work belonged to Asya Alizade, with whom he sang a duet, Bodur noted that he removed the work from digital platforms as soon as he became aware of the CİMER complaints.

Released in February of last year, 'Kahpe' had quickly garnered reactions with its lyrics and music video scenes. Especially references made to the concept of honor and expressions evoking stabbing became the target of criticism, while investigations had been launched regarding the video clip on charges of obscenity.

Lvbel C5 had previously been at the center of a similar wave of controversy with his song titled 'Hav Hav Hav'. The barking sounds, eccentric lyrics related to luxury living and money in the track, which topped the charts in Turkey upon its release, had caused a broad resonance in the public.
