Cameroonian left-back Mahamadou Nagida, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Rennes, is on the transfer radar of European giants due to his performance in recent weeks. It is stated that Porto, Roma, Brighton, Lyon, Milan, and Marseille are monitoring the young footballer, who had also attracted interest from Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş in past transfer windows.
Mahamadou Nagida, whom Rennes added to their squad in August 2023, earned the trust of the coaching staff with one goal and one assist in the 4-1 victory against Auxerre and the 2-1 match against OFI Crete. Stated to have moved ahead of Quentin Merlin in the competition for the left-back starting position with this performance, the young player is noted to aim to continue his career at Rennes and further his development.
Although Rennes Head Coach Franck Haise believes there are shortcomings in his defensive aspect, Nagida's offensive contribution, explosive power, speed, and left foot stand out. Former head coach Frédéric Antonetti found the player's traits similar to PSG's Nuno Mendes while emphasizing that he needs to improve his positioning. Having graduated from the Brasseries du Cameroun Football Academy in Cameroon and featuring in 13 matches for the national team, Nagida also played against Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.
