Marco Asensio's transfer situation and the interest of Spanish clubs
Following developments at Fenerbahçe, Spanish teams Villarreal and Espanyol have contacted Marco Asensio's agent regarding a potential transfer.
Villarreal and Espanyol clubs have stepped in for Fenerbahçe's Spanish footballer Marco Asensio.
The situation of Marco Asensio, who wears the Fenerbahçe jersey, and his potential transfer have come to the agenda. It was reported that although the player was included in the squad that traveled to England for the match against Aston Villa, he was not chosen by head coach İsmail Kartal.
Following these developments, it was conveyed that Villarreal and Espanyol, which had also come to the agenda during the summer transfer window, took action with the thought that the player was experiencing problems at the club. It was stated that the interested clubs contacted the player's agent and conveyed that they are ready to hold talks if he wants to leave in January.
It was noted that Asensio's agent has not given any positive or negative response to these two clubs for now. The contract of the 30-year-old midfielder, who transferred to Fenerbahçe last year, runs until 2028. The player has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in 8 official matches he played under the yellow-navy blue jersey this season.
