Climate activists exhibited a melting silver-colored statue of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in Tallahassee to protest his indifference to the climate crisis.
A life-sized melting statue of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was unveiled in Tallahassee to protest his policies regarding the climate crisis. Titled 'DENIAL', the installation was cast from gallium metal, which melts at 29.8 degrees, revealing a skull underneath the face as it melts.
At a demonstration held in the capital of Tallahassee to criticize Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's steps against the climate crisis, a melting statue made of gallium metal was exhibited. Unveiled to viewers last week, the silver-colored statue rapidly melted in Tallahassee's summer temperatures, revealing a skull beneath DeSantis's face. Cast from solid gallium, which melts at approximately 29.8 degrees Celsius (85.6 Fahrenheit), the statue was prepared by activists in reference to DeSantis's eight-year gubernatorial term ending in January.
The installation project titled 'DENIAL' was brought to life jointly by the advertising agency Uncommon, the climate advocacy group 350 Action, and the production company M ss ng P eces. 350 Action campaign manager Candice Fortin criticized candidates who deny the climate crisis and called on voters to take action at the ballot box. DeSantis, who previously stated that he rejected the agenda of radical green ambitions, had defended his stance on climate policies.
