Meta's AI app Muse surpasses 10 million downloads in 40 days
Meta's new AI assistant Muse achieved a rare success by crossing the 10 million threshold within 40 days of its release.
Meta's AI assistant Muse reached 10.2 million downloads in the U.S. and 10.9 million in total within 40 days of its launch, becoming one of the rare apps to hit this milestone. According to Sensor Tower data, Muse went on record as the 12th app in history to achieve this success since its launch.
According to information shared by Sensor Tower senior insights analyst Kara Lee, there are only 11 apps in history that have caught such a rapid growth momentum. While the latest example in this group was Meta's Threads app in July 2023, the majority of the other examples consist of mobile games such as Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, and Pokémon GO, alongside Disney+, which is the only non-gaming platform.
Behind the app's success lie Meta's broad ecosystem power and advertising investments. According to Sensor Tower data, Meta directed 39 percent of its total ad spending to Muse in October. Furthermore, the app surpassed AI competitors such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok in user retention rates, reaching a 7-day retention rate of 30 percent and a 14-day retention rate of 23 percent in the U.S.
