MHP's Zuhal Karakoç Discharged After Accident

MHP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Zuhal Karakoç was discharged as of October 19 from Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment following a traffic accident she had in the Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş on October 11.

The statement regarding the health status of MHP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Zuhal Karakoç was made by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gürhan Gürçay, the Administrative Head of the Brain and Nerve Surgery Clinic at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital. Following the accident, Karakoç was transferred to Ankara, where a general body trauma and a fracture in the first lumbar vertebra were detected. Undergoing surgery on October 12, Karakoç's spinal fracture was stabilized with six screws and two rods. Examinations also revealed fractures in her left ribs and right shoulder blade, as well as lesions in her liver.

Prof. Dr. Gürçay announced that Karakoç was discharged as of October 19 and that her recovery process is expected to take approximately three months. In the accident on October 11, a pickup truck collided with a car in a convoy, resulting in the death of Samet Özdemir, while 7 people, including Karakoç and MHP Kahramanmaraş Provincial Chairman Mansur Metehan, were injured.
