Milwaukee Brewers fans face potential World Series ticket prices

Milwaukee Brewers fans formed long lines in front of the ticket office to secure early access to tickets for potential World Series games at American Family Field, and encountered much higher-than-expected prices on online platforms.

Ticket lines and heavy interest

Milwaukee Brewers fans arrived early Thursday morning in front of the ticket office to get tickets for the potential World Series games at American Family Field. Fans, who waited for hours despite wind and rain, made a great effort to find tickets during the team's playoff run.

Ken Mitsche, who came from Cudahy, stated that he did not expect the lines to be this long, but noted that this opportunity might only come once in a lifetime, expressing that the situation was priceless for him.

High costs and surprise tickets

Gina Leary Wong from Milwaukee said she took the risk of being late for work to buy tickets and secured tickets for Game 2, which coincided with her wedding anniversary. Leary Wong stated that she bought the tickets as an anniversary gift for her spouse.

Expressing that they were surprised by the ticket costs, fans noted that the prices were much higher than they anticipated and that they had to act according to their budgets.

Market prices and demand

According to StubHub data on Thursday afternoon, the cheapest standing-room-only ticket for the first game to be played at American Family Field on Friday, October 23, was set at $1,976. The most expensive ticket close to the field was listed at $6,066.

John Schmidt, owner of the business Schmitty’s Tickets, stated that he has not seen this level of demand since the Green Bay Packers went to the Super Bowl, noting that everyone wants to go and his phone is ringing incessantly.

Ticket prices by opposing teams

In a potential Brewers World Series matchup, ticket prices vary depending on the opposing team. It is stated that if the Brewers face the Rays, ticket prices for the games in Tampa Bay will be several hundred dollars cheaper.

It is expressed that if the team matches up with the Guardians, ticket prices in Cleveland will be at almost the exact same level as those in Milwaukee.
