The Dragon capsule, launched from Florida as part of SpaceX's 35th Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-35) mission, arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) on October 15. Among the approximately 2,860 kilograms of supplies carried to the station along with the capsule were three-dimensional miniature human brain models (miBrains) containing neural tissue.

In the experiment conducted by NASA, these small brain models grown in a laboratory environment will be kept in orbit for five weeks. Researchers aim to analyze changes in brain cells by comparing the samples exposed to microgravity and radiation conditions in space with their equivalents stored under the same conditions on Earth.

This study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the underlying processes of human aging and various neurological diseases. The experimental samples are projected to be brought back to Earth via the Dragon capsule, which is scheduled to splash down off the coast of California in mid-November.
