More than 14 million examinations performed in Samsun in the first nine months of 2026

Samsun Provincial Health Director Mustafa Uras shared health service data for the first nine months of 2026. It was stated that a total of over 14 million examinations were performed in public, private, and family medicine units across the city.

According to the data, 4.5 million of the total examinations were performed in family medicine units, while the remainder took place in hospitals. Approximately 8 million 800 thousand examinations were recorded in public hospitals, while a total of over 300,000 surgeries and more than 4 million imaging procedures were performed. It was stated that approximately 15 percent of the patients examined came from outside of Samsun.

Preventive medicine efforts were also continued within the scope of health services. In the first nine months of the year, cancer screenings were applied to 117,797 people, and SMA tests were performed on 9,411 newborns. Additionally, 25 children were referred to relevant physicians within the scope of autism spectrum disorder screening.
