Muammer Karaca Theatre launches application call for independent companies
Restored by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and reopened on September 25, 2026, the Muammer Karaca Theatre has started the application process for stage allocation to independent theatre companies. Applications must be submitted by October 30, 2026.
The Muammer Karaca Theatre, which was reopened for service on September 25, 2026, following restoration work by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has launched the application process to host independent theatre companies on its stage.
The historical stage reopened its doors after a 14-year hiatus with restoration work carried out within the body of the IMM. As part of the new season program, management has started accepting applications for stage allocation, evaluating play proposals from independent theatre companies.
Companies wishing to apply must submit their play files, requested dates and times, technical requirements, and contact information via the address muammerkaracatiyatrosu@ibb.gov.tr. The deadline for the process has been announced as October 30, 2026.
In the new season, the venue is planned to host not only theatre performances but also workshops, artist meet-ups, concerts, and various cultural and artistic events.
