"My Book Friend" Program from İKSV Alt Kat and Hisar Schools

İKSV Alt Kat and Hisar Schools have launched the "My Book Friend" program, which aims to help children establish a connection with literature and support their reading habits. Held free of charge at İKSV Alt Kat between October 2026 and June 2027, the workshops bring together children aged 7-10 who study in public schools and join through general applications with volunteer young mentors from Hisar High School.

In the program where volunteer students from Hisar High School serve as mentors, high school and primary education students meet in creative activities shaped around nine books. Throughout the season, eighteen workshops are organized under the main theme of "awareness," with sub-themes of basic emotional skills, environment and coexistence with living creatures, and cultural and artistic awareness. Implemented in the school's 30th academic year, this model carries concepts such as questioning, making connections, and the responsibility of learning into an out-of-school environment.
