National Innovation Ecosystem Development Meeting Held
During the meeting where the results of the WIPO 2026 Global Innovation Index were announced, goals regarding technology procurement mechanisms and the integration of research projects with enterprises were discussed.
At the national innovation ecosystem meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, contribution to economic growth, technology procurement mechanisms, and the integration of projects with businesses were addressed.
Purpose of the Meeting and Participants
On the morning of October 14, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung chaired an important meeting at the Government Headquarters with the participation of ministries and agencies aimed at developing the national innovation ecosystem.
Innovation and Economic Growth
During the sessions, it was emphasized that innovation must become the main driver of economic growth and create new efficiencies and value-added products.
Role of Enterprises and Objectives
While aiming to place businesses at the center of the process, it was decided that by 2030, at least fifty percent of research projects will be linked to enterprises and yield tangible products.
Global Innovation Index Ranking
At the meeting, according to the WIPO 2026 Global Innovation Index results shared by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh, it was reported that Vietnam ranked 43rd out of 139 countries.
