Porsche unveiled the Mission S concept model, showcasing its new design language within the framework of the "Sportwagenschmiede ’35" strategic organization, at a historic pier in Queens, New York. Introduced at this historic venue where the brand first exhibited the 550 Spyder model in 1953, the vehicle sheds light on a new mid-engine super sports car platform to be positioned above the 911 model.

Porsche Executive Board Chairman Dr. Michael Leiters stated that the Mission S is not a one-off concept, but rather the herald of a new mid-engine super sports car platform that will permanently take its place in the brand's product range. Pointing to the brand's rich heritage with its fluid body lines, torpedo fender structure, and round headlights, the concept vehicle will guide future Porsche models. In the exterior design, performance-oriented engineering is aimed by drawing inspiration from legendary models such as the GT1, 959, 911, 917, and 928.

Inside the cabin, a completely driver-focused and minimalist experience is targeted. While the five-circle instrument cluster behind the steering wheel can physically move closer depending on the driving mode, a concealable smartphone integration with MagSafe support takes the place of a fixed screen on the console. The technical details of the platform and the mass production schedule are expected to become clear in the upcoming period.
