New Era at the Turkey Cancer Institute: Four Scientific Committees Established
With the amendment made to the organizational structure of the Turkey Cancer Institute, four separate scientific committees have been formed to operate in fields such as cancer research, clinical oncology, genetics, and cellular therapies.
The regulation change regarding the organizational structure of the Turkey Cancer Institute entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated October 21, 2026. With the regulation prepared by the Presidency of the Health Institutes of Turkey, it was decided to establish four new scientific committees within the institute.
The scientific committees established under the new regulation will operate in the fields of Cancer Epidemiology and Preventive Oncology, Clinical Oncology and Clinical Trials, Basic Oncology, Cancer Genetics and Cancer Molecular Biology, as well as Tumor Immunology, Cancer Vaccines, Cellular Therapies in Cancer Treatment, and Transplantation.
Each scientific committee will consist of a maximum of 15 members, chaired by the President of the Institute. The committees, whose members will serve for a term of two years, are planned to convene at least four times a year.
