New Law Regarding the Liquidation of Investment Funds Published in the Official Gazette
A new law regarding investment funds liquidated by CMB decisions has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. The regulation provides for interim payments of up to 1 million liras to investors.
The legal regulation regarding investment funds whose liquidation was decided by the Capital Markets Board's decisions dated September 17, 2026, but whose procedures have not been completed, was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force effective September 17, 2026.
It is aimed to conduct the liquidation process in a fair, transparent, and effective manner, to recover values unlawfully removed from the fund assets, and to collect damages primarily from portfolio management companies. The arithmetic average of CPI and D-PPI change rates will be taken as the basis for calculating net investment amounts.
Within the scope of the regulation, interim payments of up to 1 million liras can be made to investors. Seized assets and recovered amounts will be tracked in special accounts within the SDIF and distributed through the Investor Compensation Center (ICC) after the liquidation.
