New US Passport Design: Eagle Figures and Historical Scenes
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has unveiled the new passport design, featuring eagle figures and 250 years of historical scenes on its pages.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio unveiled the design of the new American passport to the public at the America.gov launch event in Washington. While physical passports are expected to be distributed in 2028, online applications are planned to begin next year.
In the new passport design, it was reported that in addition to the traditional eagle figure on the cover, this motif will also appear on the inside pages of the booklet. It was stated that the pages will be decorated with designs from America's 250-year history, such as the Battle of Lexington, westward expansion, the Wright brothers' flight, the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima, and a diving visual from the Artemis mission. Additionally, the seal on the passport cover was enlarged while the 'United States of America' text was moved to the top.
On the other hand, it was noted that US citizens will be able to apply for passports online next year, and the new passports will be made available in 2028. It was previously recorded that as part of the country's 250th anniversary celebrations, a limited number of documents called 'Patriot Passport' featuring the likeness of President Trump were introduced and presented in Washington and other offices.
