North Korean leader Kim Jong Un traveled to the Chinese border city of Dandong on Saturday using the New Yalu River Bridge. The 3-kilometer-long bridge, which opened this month after long delays, is intended to resolve logistical bottlenecks and boost trade.
During the visit, Kim met with Wang Huning, China's fourth-highest-ranking official, who conveyed greetings from President Xi Jinping. Wang Huning stated that China is ready to use the opening of the bridge to expand personnel exchanges and economic cooperation. Kim paid his respects to the soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army at the Korean War memorial in Dandong and toured an automobile factory.
