Number of 5G subscribers in Turkey exceeded 47.6 million in 6 months
The total number of subscribers for 5G technology, which started operating on mobile networks in Turkey in April, reached 47,661,726 as of the end of September.
In 5G technology, which started to be used on mobile networks across Turkey on April 1, the total number of subscribers reached 47,661,726 as of September.
In the 5G tender held with the participation of 3 operators on October 16 last year, a result of 3 billion 534 million dollars was achieved. The technology, which was put into service with the reception of the first signals in April 2026, met with 21 million subscribers on the very first day. This number rose to the level of 44.5 million in August.
It was stated that 5G, by offering high device connection capacities and ultra-low latency times compared to 4.5G, carries Turkey to the center of digital transformation. It was expressed that the technology will support areas such as smart factories, autonomous robots, smart road systems, and energy management, and it is targeted to gradually deliver the services to every point of the country within two years.
