In Turkey, the number of participants under 18 in the Private Pension System (BES), which families prefer for their children's future, rose to 1,744,360 as of August 2026.
According to data shared by the Pension Monitoring Center (EGM), the total fund size in the system reached 114.6 billion liras. Of this amount, 93 billion liras consisted of the participants' own savings, while 21.6 billion liras came from state contribution funds.
While 103,378 children were included in the system in the first eight months of the year, the total fund size has increased by approximately 29.6 billion liras since the beginning of the year. By including children in the system at an early age, it is aimed to create financial resources for periods such as university education, the first home, or the start of professional life. In the current practice, a state contribution of 20 percent of the deposited contributions continues to be provided.
