Nvidia CEO Urges German Manufacturers to Adopt AI
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang urged German manufacturers at a summit in Berlin to rapidly embrace artificial intelligence, emphasizing that digital technology will not replace heavy industry.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called on Germany's automobile and industrial machinery manufacturers to quickly adopt artificial intelligence in order to restructure the country's business model. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Invest in Germany Summit" held in Berlin on Monday, October 19, 2026, Huang stated that digital technology will not replace heavy industry, but rather empower human talents and the manufacturing world.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz came together at the opening ceremony of the summit in Berlin. Huang stated that electrons can never replace atoms, expressing that the next wave of artificial intelligence possesses a physical structure interacting with robotics, manufacturing, and automobiles. Emphasizing that Germany's manufacturing data and expertise constitute a national natural resource, Huang pointed out that the AI-powered industrial revolution is an opportunity too powerful to be missed.
Germany faces challenges such as economic stagnation, high energy prices following the loss of cheap Russian natural gas, competition from China in the automotive sector, and bureaucratic obstacles affecting complex machinery exports. While Merz and other European leaders view AI as a source of growth, they harbor concerns regarding dependence on U.S. technology companies and data security. Huang advised Germany to import AI technology while keeping its culture, values, and knowledge base local by having local elements program and train the systems.
