October 29 Republic Day celebrations started with concerts in İzmir
Smyrna Ensemble, operating under the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, is organizing a special concert program within the scope of the October 29 Republic Day celebrations.
Established by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Smyrna Ensemble started the October 29 celebrations with a special concert reflecting the music culture that developed with the proclamation of the Republic.
Taking the stage with a repertoire featuring works by Republican-era composers, opera arias, and select examples of Turkish classical music, Smyrna Ensemble offers listeners a comprehensive musical experience. Comprising a total of 27 artists accompanied by four vocalists and a maestro, the ensemble aims to keep the artistic heritage of the Republic alive through melodies.
Within the scope of efforts to carry culture and art events to different points of the city, the ensemble will give two more concerts on October 28 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Fahrettin Altay Metro Station.
