In a shooting carried out on Friday in Trappes, a southern suburb of Paris, at least one person was killed and four others were injured, including a 12-year-old girl.

The attacker, who randomly opened fire from his vehicle in the Trappes and neighboring La Verriere areas, was apprehended by law enforcement officers shortly after the incident. Trappes Mayor Ali Rabeh stated in an interview with BFMTV that the attacker's intention was to cause bloodshed.

La Verriere Mayor Nicolas Dainville announced that the 12-year-old girl, who was severely injured with eight gunshot wounds in the attack, is in stable condition. While it was noted that at least two of the victims are of immigrant descent, security forces are evaluating the possibility that the incident, which occurred following protests and riots in the country, could be a terrorist act.
