OpenAI and Poland's NASK Launch Partnership for AI Safety
OpenAI and the Polish National Research Institute NASK have reached an agreement on safety research and vulnerability detection in advanced artificial intelligence systems.
OpenAI and Poland's NASK National Research Institute have signed a formal agreement to collaborate on AI safety, security, and technical research.
An agreement has been signed between OpenAI and the Polish National Research Institute (NASK) to collaborate in the fields of AI safety, security, and technical research. The partnership aims to combine the expertise of both organizations to better understand emerging risks, strengthen protective measures, and explore how advanced AI can contribute to a safer digital ecosystem.
Under the agreement, OpenAI will work with the AI Safety Research Center, which serves as the Polish AI Safety Institute within NASK, on joint AI safety research. The parties aim to explore ways to evaluate evolving AI systems, identify potential vulnerabilities, and enhance protective measures.
This collaboration builds upon previous work. In July, CERT Polska, operating under NASK, used OpenAI's cyber-capable models to discover six vulnerabilities in MikroTik RouterOS, which were subsequently patched by the manufacturer.
