OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, is conducting negotiations to secure up to $30 billion in new private equity investment ahead of its initial public offering (IPO). According to sources, Coatue and UAE-based investors are emerging as key participants in this round, which targets a valuation of $1.25 trillion.

It is noted that negotiations regarding the investment round are ongoing and terms may change. According to information reported by CNBC, a potential investment from the UAE could be supported by an agreement aimed at providing the additional computing capacity that OpenAI requires. OpenAI has declined to comment on the matter.

Previous reports shared by Bloomberg had claimed that the company was seeking $30 billion in funding at a valuation of $1.4 trillion. OpenAI, which filed confidentially for an IPO in June, reached a valuation of $852 billion in its last investment round in March. If the current discussions conclude with a valuation exceeding $1 trillion, OpenAI will claim the title of the most valuable private company in history.
