Operation Against Daltonlar Crime Syndicate in 30 Provinces: 87 Suspects Apprehended
In simultaneous operations conducted across 30 provinces against the Daltonlar crime syndicate led by Beratcan Gökdemir, who is sought with a red notice, 87 suspects including 34 children were apprehended. The network's action plans, which recruited members via social media and closed messaging groups, were deciphered.
In a dawn operation targeting the "Daltonlar" crime syndicate in 30 provinces centered in Istanbul, led by Beratcan Gökdemir who is sought with a red notice, 87 out of 100 suspects with detention warrants were apprehended.
Action Instructions Through Messaging Groups
Examinations revealed that the suspects conducted intra-organizational communication via restricted-access WhatsApp groups named "Brothers". It was determined that group leaders published urgent announcements seeking individuals to undertake attacks in cities such as Izmir and Manisa, directing members to actions such as shooting at shops and arson.
It was deciphered that the organization's leaders, who mandated that actions be managed from a single center, set strict rules against handling jobs for other groups. Furthermore, it was established that the network asked its members to invite acquaintances to the group in order to expand its hitman network.
Escape Plans and International Connections
It was understood that organization members procured high-engine-capacity motorcycles to be used in attacks and detailed escape measures after the action in the messages. It was determined that members, who traded foreign-registered telephone lines to evade tracking, discussed the prison sentences they would face among themselves.
It was ascertained that the suspects shared instant location information in the group and moved to meeting points. The writings showed that there were statements indicating the presence of action-ready groups in European countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Belgium.
