Osman Akyüz, leading figure of the participation finance sector, passes away

Osman Akyüz, among the prominent figures of Turkey's participation finance sector, former General Manager of Albaraka Türk, and Board Member of Hayat Finans Participation Bank, has passed away at the age of 72.

Education and Entry into Professional Life

Born in Trabzon in 1954, Osman Akyüz graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1977.

Starting his professional career in 1978 as an Account Specialist at the Ministry of Finance, Akyüz transitioned to the private sector in 1983.

Albaraka Türk and Sector Duties

Joining Albaraka Türk Participation Bank in 1985, Akyüz was appointed as General Manager on January 1, 1996, and retired from this position on March 5, 2002.

Serving as the Secretary General of the Participation Banks Association of Turkey between 2002 and 2022, Akyüz undertook significant roles in the development of the sector.

Recent Works

Osman Akyüz had been serving as a Board Member and Head of the Audit Committee at Hayat Finans Participation Bank since August 2022.
