Özyeğin Philharmonic Orchestra Founded Under the Direction of Fazıl Say
Founded to bring classical music to wide audiences, the Özyeğin Philharmonic will give its first concert in Istanbul on November 9, 2026.
Established with the vision of the Fiba Group and Hüsnü Özyeğin, the Özyeğin Philharmonic was founded to bring classical music to wide audiences and support young musicians. With pianist and composer Fazil Say undertaking its art directorship, the orchestra aims to bring musicians from different generations together on the same stage through its international character.
Realized at a time when the Fiba Group is preparing to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Özyeğin Philharmonic will hold its inaugural concert on November 9, 2026, at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Kongre ve Sergi Sarayı. In the launch concert to be conducted by world-renowned conductor Tianyi Lu, Fazil Say will take the stage as the soloist. The project is regarded as a continuation of the Fiba Group's social investments in the field of education within the realm of culture and arts.
Fiba Group Founder and Honorary President Hüsnü Özyeğin expressed his wish for the orchestra to build its own tradition over time, while Fazil Say stated that their goals are to be a voice from Turkey to the world and to establish an orchestra that sparks curiosity with original interpretations. Meanwhile, within the scope of the project, campus concerts, open rehearsals, masterclasses, and workshops will be organized in cooperation with Özyeğin University and the Hüsnü Özyeğin Foundation.
