Following the transformation of protests, which began with rising living costs and economic pressures across France, into violent incidents, the government has increased measures. Partial night curfews were declared in centers such as Paris, Lille, Nice, and Lyon, while more than 2,500 people were detained.

While it was conceded that police lost control during weekend demonstrations in France, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that local and partial curfews would be implemented to restore public order. A curfew was introduced in certain districts of Paris between 23:00 and 06:00, while similar bans were announced in the centers of Lille, Nice, and Lyon. Meanwhile, Marseille announced that it banned all meetings and demonstrations on Monday.

Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez submitted his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron, stating that turnout was far higher than intelligence anticipated and that there was a lack of foresight during the preparation phase. Macron rejected this resignation, demanding transparency regarding planning errors. Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin stated that more than 2,500 people were detained and dozens were arrested following the events. During the protests, demonstrators blocked the entrances of the Louvre Museum in Paris, preventing its opening, while the US Department of State issued a travel advisory.
