Personnel expenses in the 2027 budget will exceed 6.3 trillion liras

According to the 2027 Central Government Budget Bill, it is planned to allocate an appropriation of 6 trillion 318 billion 533 million liras for public personnel expenses. This amount corresponds to approximately 23.2 percent of the total budget of 27 trillion 276 billion liras and represents an increase of 28.8 percent compared to the year 2026.

In the 2027 budget bill, the highest appropriation for public personnel expenses was allocated to the Ministry of National Education. While resources of 1 trillion 794 billion 496 million liras were foreseen for the ministry's personnel expenses, the Ministry of Health ranked second with an appropriation of 1 trillion 113 billion 829 million liras. It is planned to allocate 523 billion 661 million liras to the General Directorate of Security and 501 billion 511 million liras to the Ministry of National Defense.

An appropriation of 370 billion 768 million liras was foreseen for the personnel expenses of the General Command of the Gendarmerie, 312 billion 696 million liras for the Ministry of Justice, and 193 billion 601 million liras for the Presidency of Religious Affairs. An appropriation of personnel expenses of 107 billion 980 million liras was planned for the Ministry of Family and Social Services, 96 billion 713 million liras for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and 93 billion 376 million liras for the Ministry of Interior.

It was foreseen to allocate 62 billion 151 million liras to the Revenue Administration, 41 billion 602 million liras to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, 30 billion 393 million liras to the Ministry of Trade, and 30 billion 314 million liras to the National Intelligence Organization. In addition, it is planned to allocate an appropriation of 807 billion 411 million liras for the personnel expenses of administrations with special budgets in 2027.
